We all know the threat that has now become a norm in our Caprican Streets. The threat responsible for not only the Mag Lev attack only six years ago, but now the constant terror of random bombings, kidnapping and abduction of Government officials and Street Cops, and the "trigger happy" shoot outs with Caprica City Police and Global Defense agents. But now the STO, or Soldiers of The One, have openly attacked a known Ha' La' Tha' Hideout, no doubt an opening blow in a soon to be bloody war between the two criminal organizations. Now with a Growing Terrorist threat and a Gang war developing, Citizens are demanding action.
It is a Sad fact that the Global Defense Department is in no way able to deal with the constant threat of this Hyper religious brand of Terror. Stretched beyond its means, and working with the now Military-like local Police, as well as the Caprican Military, the GDD has many battles to fight before Capricans can sleep peacefully at night. The Streets have become war zones, and Citizens have descended into a self imposed Martial Law. With the destructive rebellion of Cylons still burning, and an ever growing war looming over the entire Planet, Global Defense Ministers are pressed to find a solution.
GDD Representative Thomas DeAramond gave this statement earlier this week,
"The Terrorist Threat of the STO has not grown to the point that it is equal to the Cylon Rebellion. The STO is only taking advantage of the fear caused by the Cylons, and most STO attacks have been grossly blown out of proportion.."
Reports of STO attacks, and their growing underground networks have been a popular subject for the Caprican Times, and our reporters have gone beyond their means to find the truth. The GDD's heavy handed tactics, and lack of details on their operations has become subject of speculation within the Caprican political community. Since the First STO attacks the GDD has began to loose its trust and creditability with not only the Caprica's Prime Minister, but with the entire Caprican Government as well.
It is feared that nothing will be done in time to prevent a total loss of order, that the very life that Capricans lived only a short time a go will never return. It is indeed a very different City that we have all grown to love. It will take the strength and determination on the part of every Caprican to make sure our great city can get past these troubled times.
